Environmental threats and opportunities of B.Sc.CSIT students

Introduction
Tribhuvan University, Institute of Science and Technology has recently introduced a 4-year semester program, Bachelors of Science in Computer Science and Information Technology (B.Sc.CSIT). The course designed by the department for this program is highly acceptable and demanding to the nation and the IT industries. B.Sc.CSIT is four year eight semester program offered by Tribhuvan University for the first time in Nepal. The program comprises computer science and allied courses of 126 credit hours. The program involves, in addition to conventional lectures, a great deal of practical and project works. The program develops the underlying principles of both Computer Science and Information Technology and shows how these principles can be applied to real world problems. This program develops the skills that are essential for both for both computer professionals and IT managers.
Objectives of B.Sc.CSIT
  • To offer intensive knowledge in the theory, design, programming and application of computers.
  • To provide necessary knowledge in the field of functional knowledge of hardware system and necessary knowledge of computer software system.

Environmental threats
The external environment consists of four parts. They are political, economic, social, technology. On the political component there can be political instability. Due to political instability there can be strike and holiday which hamper the study. There is no long term stability. No one is interested for investing money where there is no political instability. There wont be any new industry for IT development. There will be lack of peace which creates frustration and depression. There will be low economy.
On the economic factor there can be low income and unemployment rate will be high. Gross domestic product(GDP) will be low. There is no growth of  business organization. There can be high competition. There will be vicious circle of poverty. There will be low income and low consumption.
On the social factor if family is educated then they will be supportive for us. Otherwise they have to be made clear and conscious about the course. If the family income is low then there will be problem for buying studying material and stuffs. In some of the religion of Nepal there is saying that the girls should not go out of home. The family size also matters the education. In newari culture there are lots of festivals which directly hampers th education.
On the technology factor ,technology is changing in rapid way. Today product will be replaced by tomorrow’s product. In a few time a new thing is manufactured. There are lots of people studying IT. There are foreign degree students.  The label of technology development is high.
Environmental Opportunity
The external environment consists of four parts. They are political, economic, social, technology. On the political aspect, political leader are convinced easily. We can be near and dear of them. They can love us and we can make a good career in IT. Nowadays in the government sector there are the people who have only knowledge rather than qualification. But the IT students have both qualification as well as degree. We can make networking in the governmental offices with Prime Minister Office.
On the economic aspect, there must be changes of needs into necessity. People have lots of needs but few are necessity. If we can convert the needs in necessity then IT can flourish everywhere. Employment can be created. Essential needs can be solved.
On the social aspect, there can be establishment of E-Education. IT students can have online income by doing online job.
On the technology aspect, IT students can be faster than the development. They can consult foreign students. They can learn the difference between two degree.
Conclusion
B.Sc.CSIT is a complete package for a student to be a good IT professional as it contains every necessary course elements. So, this course is going to create a lots of direct and indirect employment opportunities for a B.Sc.CSIT student after their graduation. Along with life changing opportunities there are many threats for an IT technician. With the pace of development of IT sector one has to be fast enough to compete with the changing world around them.
